For a cost effective upgrade without going big reds, is it better to go 993 front calipers to run with later 996 monoblock calipers.
The 996 discs are a good size but they are thinner at 28mm
I think 993 are 32mm
Also, does anyone know suppliers of brackets to convert 964 to either 993 or 996 calipers.
Cheers

964 front rotors are 298x28
993 front rotors are 304x32
993 tt/RS & 964 RS/t are 322x32
996 front rotors are 318x28
and they all have different o/s
here's a 996 and 993

w/ the correct caliper adapter you can fit 993s to a 964, the same caliper adapter is used to fit either 993 or 993RS/tt big reds

Thanks Bill.
Sorry, I just re-read my post and it is misleading.
My question is. Is it better to fit 993 front calipers/discs to a 964 or can you also fit the 996 calipers/discs.
I assumed the 993 way is the better way to go as brackets are readily available (Would love a bracket contact if you know any one).
The 993 discs are the same size as 996 but 993 discs thicker so I also assume this is better.
The reason I ask is 996 calipers are readily available, especially in Australia whilst 993 front calipers are harder to get. I thought upgrading to 996 calipers and discs might be another upgrade option instead of doing the 993 caliper/disc upgrade but the more i read into it, the more it seems the 993 caliper/caliper would be better to do than upgrading to a 996 caliper/disc.

next best is to get a caliper adaptor from VCI, discuss w/ them which rotor to use as the adapter and the rotor need to match
996 front rotors are 318x28mm
993 front rotors are 304x32mm
993RS/tt front rotors are 322x32mm
