Thank you to whoever is out there "currently" owns my future GT3...please no more than 1,000 miles per year, and keep that climate controlled garage shut.

But if you DO mean an '04 US car, then consider how the depreciation sweet spot has always seemed to hit 911s. They seem to be cheapest just out of warranty, and for another 2-3 years past that. Has pretty much been that way since I've been involved with these cars over the past 30 years.

Sorry, meant 997 GT3 MK1.
That said, I've seen some very nice 996 GT3 MKIIs already. They sound so mean and I hear the driving experience is very raw. I will definitely compare well looked-after 996 Gt3s during my 997 GT3 search. Again this is years down the road, but I'm laying the foundation now...
Good info. and that matches what I've found also.
I just have to be patient...my car is out there waiting for me to find it. Hopefully the "current" owner is limiting its mileage and keeping the door to the climate-controlled garage shut!

I'm not sure if I see this car being worth more than $260k or even close to that in the near or far future. Again, it is hard to predict the future value for any P-car, but this doesn't strike me as a collectors dream. For the money, I would purchase something like the GT3RS, GT2RS or even two cars as some of the members have suggested with money left over. As far as purchasing an automobile in hopes of achieving 1973 Carrera RS status in the future, maybe a nice stock 964RS? GT2RS? CGT? Panamera V6??

I spent the last 10 days in Germany on business but had a few days to play. Went to the Porsche Museum and that was great but over at the Porsche dealer across the street was this little gray 911 Sport Classic. I would trade for this in a heart beat - if money were not a stumbling block.
Cash out the kids college fund as this baby was in the neighborhood of $260K USD - OUCH!

I love it too.
