Default Center Console Casstte Box Replacement

Quick Question:

I have a cassette box in the rear of my center console which I would very much like to replce. In the PET it appears the number(s) for this assembly is

964-552 553 00/964-552-753-00 Cassette Box Assembly

Does the 964-552-159-00-1DB-OEM Center Console "Cup" directly replace the cassette box?

No need to explain why one would want to get rid of the cassette box....'tis a PITA.

Thanks,
John

I just bought all the pieces new for my '95 993 to replace the factory cd holder and it was well less than $40 at Sunset prices.

Although it's technically a bodge - I did this myself soon after buying my car without purchasing any parts.

I ripped the cassette holders out, and found some fine mesh lying around. I had some thin fake leather fabric which I stuck on top of the mesh, then the mesh clipped fairly neatly under the opening (obviously after taking the centre console out to fit it).

Surprisingly - it looks pretty original, and has lasted almost 9 years!

Hi nvrlft
I've got an unused console insert and rubber pad. If you're interested please send me a PM.
Thanks
