Default 964 cage

Hi all

Is this the cage that came in some 964RS's?

Any recommendations for cages for track days, so removable or no door bars would be great.

thanks

It's a very nice cage with excellent fit. The Heigo cages are well known and used by a lot of people throughout the years. I have the same set up as the one in your link and I'm really pleased with it. This winter I did a small mod to my cage. I welded two brackets on each side of the headloop so now I can bolt/fix the headloop in the upper seatbelts fixing points at the B-pillar. By doing this you get it more stiffer sideways while it's now connected to an upper point of the body and not just the plates at the floor. I "stole" this idea from some other cages/car makes on Heigos website, www.heigo.de.

The RS N/GT and Cup cars had a fully welded cage from Matter, and they are out of business now. But Heigo is so common so you could almost say they are "number 2" after Matter for a factory look.

600.001 Flankenschutz beidseitig - Side/door bars as on the pic, between A and B pillars
600.006 Polstermaterial 38mm Durchmesser, Länge 1,9 Meter - Padding, 1,9 meters to be fitted by yourself
600.035 Querstrebe Armaturenbrett - The bar between the A-pillars along the dashboard
600.028 FIA-Polstermaterial 38-42mm Rohr, Länge 915mm, schwarz FIA 8857-2001 Typ A - Padding but FIA approvad for racing
600.034 Pulverbeschichtung Käfig in RAL-Farben - Powdercoated in basic colours
600.005 Käfigpolsterung Kopfbereich - Some kind of padding again.

You can by all the types of padding from other places. I would go for all the bars incl the "querstrebe"along the dashbord. The cage is normally painted in a simple satinblack colour which looks ok but isn't very durable for wear. So powdercoating is a good option if you can't find it cheaper at home.
