Horn continually screaming
Can somebody help me with this issue?
Last night my 964 horn start screaming continually without any reason.
Only solution to stop this is disable wires from battery. I checked ground point
In my steering wheel but that seems to be fine.
If I connect cable to battery, horn starts shouting almost immediately.
I can start my engine but shouting just doesn't stop.
Any advice?

Rather than disconnecting the battery, just pull the fuse (I think its No. 3 in the fusebox) Then you can at least drive your car 'til you find the problem.

Check your light switch in the trunk, make sure it turns off the light when the hood is closed. I had an intermitten problem with mine and it would set off the alarm.

I had the same problem and it turned out that my alarm unit (located under the right side front hood hinge on a 1990). It took on water from a leak under my windshield. It’s not easy to get to but if yours is located there I would pull it out and check to see if it’s dry. I repaired the leak and replaced the unit, problem solved.

Just had this issue w/ my 993, there is a horn bracket inside the steering wheel cover that wears out and has to be replaced. This is very common with the 964/993 series. Do a search under horn bracket and you will see some write-ups on the issue. Some folks have fixed this with felt pads to give a little more cushion at the connection.

I second the water in the alarm unit explanation. When I had to deal with a uncontrollable horn, my mechanic pulled the unit, dried it out, and wrapped it in a baggie. Problem solved
