Default Another Chip Question

I'm the third owner of a recently acquired 89 C4. In reviewing the documentation that came with the car, a Weltmeister chip was installed during the early to mid nineties. I can't find any documentation on how much this particular chip would improve performance. As we sit here 15 years later, I'm wonder if there isn't a newer chip that would help take advantage of running 93 octane? Thanks Guys!

Regards,

I just put one of these in recently. And I love it! Does what it says on the box

I don't know about your Weltmeister chip but if it was from the mid-nineties I'll daresay a new chip from SW will be better!

Thanks Amroth,

The link addressed a lot of my questions. Did you go for the basic chip or did they customize and retune?

I went for the 95RON with cat bypass option since that is what's on my car. I don't have a very unique setup so I didn't need a custom tune. I initially ordered the 98RON version, but when I researched a little I found out fuel quality here is relatively poor (and it gets to 50C with 90% humidity in summer!), so I sent it back right away for a swap and Steve W didn't even charge me extra.

I have a Steve Wong chip ... I had to go custom because of my set up ... Best thing to do, if you have doubts, call up Steve and have a quick chat with him ... He really knows his stuff and he will definitely lead you in the right direction.
