3.2 or 3.6
Greetings all,
I'm going to sell my 1975 911S and am interested in a 964...question is: Should I search for a 3.2 model or a 3.6?
Any help would certainly be appreciated and I'm Thanking you in advance.

Depends if you want more power, comfort, better handling and a working AC system get a 3.6. More old school feel get a 3.2.

Hi,
All 964's are 3.6 appart from the early turbo's which were 3.3. The 3.2 was fitted to the previous (impact bumper) cars. The 964 carrera 2, although looking much the same as the 3.2's is a very different car under the skin with a completely revised suspension, power steering, ABS and a more reliable heater system!! Not too mention the bigger 3.6 engine. It was also the first 911 to be offered with 4 wheel drive with the carrera 4.

By the late 90's engines do you mean the 993 3.6? or the 1999- 996 water cooled car? Assuming you mean the 993 engines, their major issue is weak valve guides which wear prematurely and cause clogged SAI ports which in turn trigger a check engine light (on 96-98 993s). The 964 3.6 engines do not have OBD II or SAI. The big issue with the 964 3.6 is oil leaks, especially on 89-91 cars.
