Default need PPI in Warwick, Rhode Island

I'm seriously thinking about purchasing a 91 C2 cab. from a Porsche dealer, I think the name is Inskip Porsche. I live in Md and need a place that will do a good PPI. Dealer offered to do it, leakdown as well as compression test, as well as general inspection. He also will give 3 month/ 3K mile warranty. Car has 95K, very good condition from what I can tell from the pics. Car was listed for about 20K, I offered 18; he accepted. Does that price sound about right? Is there anyone here who lives close that can go by and take a look at it for me. Also, what do you think about having the dealer doing their own PPI. I'm getting a bad taste in my mouth about that. Pm me or email: bcr4d@comcast.net.

My Brother in law lives near there and may be able to help. I bought my car from him.

Sorry. His guy is too far away. What will the 3k warranty cover?

I bought a 964 from them a few months ago. Great experience. Had a problem with the brake solenoid within 3 months. They paid without any issues. They were easy to work with and honest. They delivered the car to me in MA. I didn't get an outside PPI as the car had one a few months prior to my purchase from a reputable place. Inskip did their ppi and spent a few thousand. No regrets.

I've been getting good reviews about their service and honesty. I've been told by a couple of renlisters that they would trust them again. As far as warranty goes, I couldn't read all it covered becaused it was emailed to me and I couldn't make everything out. Probably powertrain and that's it. I'll call them in the morning and see if I can get leakdown and compression done. What are acceptable numbers for these?

Inskip is a Penske dealership. If you are really serious about the car I would call Jerry at EPE (European Performance Engineering) in Natick. They are about 45 minutes away and probably the best in Boston area.

+1 for EPE. Jerry wrenches my 964. Great guy.

FWIW, I was looking at an Inskip car a few years ago. Asked them about clean title. "NO PROBLEM!" Did a Carfax and it was a salvage title. Lots of embarrassment there, and talk about "wiseguys". Granted it was only a single observation, but it totally turned me off to them.

I would not trust them for any inspection, especially if its related to what they refer to as a "vintage" car. (= older than any 997).

Just my $0.02.
