Default particle filter on the 964

Where is the particle filter located (assuming the 964 C2 with aircon has one)

I am pretty sure there is no such thing on the 964. Asked the same question when I bought mine, and that's what I was told.

I had both my stereo and climate control unit out this past weekend and noticed there were some louvers back in there. I opened them with my fingers, and noticed what appeared to be a square paper filter of some kind. (The material looked similar to the engine air filter). I was wondering- is this a cockpit air filter? I haven't had a chance to investigate further.

sounds crazy not having a particle filter in a car.... especially with aircon, my Alfa Romeo's have one
and after one year use they are completely black !
the Germans must have stashed one in a secret place in the 911 !!!!

993's have cabin filters. they sit in front of the fan in the fan housing. 2 required (one for each front blower). Do a search on pelican for "pollen air filter" or 993-572-479-00.
Not sure if the 964 fan housing is the same size. If it is they should fit. Simply remove clips holding on part no 8 and slide in filter.
My AR also has a cabin filter but given the absence of a local parts dealer I remove the filter material and insert furnace filter foam cut to size into the plastic frame. Seems to work.

I would like to try the 993 pollen filter since I have everything apart. It would be nice to know if part 8 could replace the 964 part. It looks like it has latches for easy access to the filter.

Ironic.

Some of us 993 guys wish we didn't have 'em. Others are apparently trying to find ways to put them in!

what's the issue(s) with the filters on the 993? Every other "newer" car I've owned has had a HVAC air filter of some sort.

I am looking into doing something similar to this, I want to purchase a normal home furnace filter and construct many different types of filters from that such as a cabin filter, many people are starting to do this. I believe it will work however, I am more worried about it causing more problems if it does not work out properly. Furnace Filter
