Default Dash pad cracking...

I could swear that when I got my car that the dash pad was perfect. But noticed some small stress cracks on on the pad just over the cluster when I was cleaning it. I looked around the web and found a dash pad overlay, looked like good idea and ordered it. When I received it, just didn't seem to fit right.

I was wondering if anyone has put a skin on the dash pad like suede. I imagine it would need some tailoring, but might look interesting. Wondering if there are any other options. I've read some dash fillers don't work well.

I don't see why you couldn't have it covered in leather/suede/alcantara . The original leather dash boards are just vinyl dashes covered in the leather. There is a leather company that is a site sponsor that seems to get consistent good reviews; 928 something....!?!?

Mine had a 2 cm crack.

A friend of mine fix it, now it's like new, except for the wavy zone.
