Default Full frame Friday

well, for you camera guys you'll understand when I say I'm now full frame. Picked up a gently used Canon 5d classic. I really wanted a 5d II, but just couldn't open the wallet far enough. Besides, my computer couldn't handle the video files it would create... No pictures yet, but maybe tomorrow morning I'll shoot some of the Porsche.

Not much else... found a group of guys out of Chicago that only allow rear wheel cars into the group... exotics and muscle cars, no Honda tuner machines.

oh yeah... the Porsche needs a bath big time!

I am off at 11:30 as usual to start my weekend. I dont have an car stuff planned. I need to go bush hog my property and mow the yard tomorrow and get stuff together for my trip to Va next week for some fishing and crabbing
I did drive the cab in to work today. It was a beautiful top down drive. Wont be so much this afternoon as its going to be in the mid 90's.

Welcome to the Full Frame addiction. Standby for all your lenses to get a workout. I shoot with a 1ds, and its a great tool. Now all your lenses will calibrate to the right focal length. :-)

Geoff - Congrats on the new camera. New toys or tools are always a good thing.

No specific Porsche plans this weekend. I need to troubleshoot why my automatic lawn sprinkler system stopped working. It normally runs on Mon and Fri mornings. I notice that it wasn't running as I was heading off to work. I hope its something simple. The rest of my weekend will be spent hanging and installing motion sensor flood lights around the house. I need to borrow a neighbors long ladder.

The weather is predicted to be nice, so I hope to give the car a bath too.

Saturday night, I'm going to a blues show with my girlfriend. "A night of music featuring James Cotton, Billy Squier, Magic Dick and the James Montgomery Band." I'm looking forward to it.

And what's the new car?

I think the car get's washed this weekend. Maybe even, clayed, polished, and waxed, too.

Is the water turned on??? We have to do that sometime soon, I guess. had a decent amount of rain this past week- about 3-4 inches over 7 days.

and thx.. I just need to get out and shoot with it now. Here's a shot from this morning.

Getting my car ready for the road trip to Montreal - F1 Canadian Grand Prix in June. Won't be around for the next couple of weeks so tomorrow is wash/wax/pack day. Exciting!

If I have time I may even swap the Alpine stereo currently in it for a CR-220. I got it dirt cheap and can hook up an iPod to it so I can have some tunes for the road - yeah I know, blasphemy!

Other than that - work in the back yard and spending time with my son who's tired of crawling and now wants to climb up on everything and stand. Probably will do some child-proofing around the house. Geoff, do you hear this??

installed my freshly painted front bumper, cleaned all 4 abs sensors (covered in metal flakes/dirt). Looked at the dreadful wheel gap and balloon tires, it needs coils...

Long weekend in Canada
I want to:
1. replace idle switch
2. replace snapped sunroof cable
3. replace window switch
4. rebuild front axle shafts

We'll see if the wife lets me do any of that...

I have a Hasselbad C500 too... but I can't afford a digital back for it. Honestly I am too lazy to use film anymore.

New car? you'll all laugh, but its an interesting contrast to the P-car.. now the 964 can be treated with a little more respect without having to be the grocery getter... Though I think my first autocross with it might be a little silly.
Pretty sure I am going to call it "The Stealth Clam"
