The D90s are gone!
I have just replaced the D90s with 17" Techart Formula wheels with pilot sport tyres and am quite suprised at the difference in performance. I expected it to look better but thought I was going to lose ride quality for the sake of a bit more grip and the looks. However, it actually rides better, less road noise and smoother
This is mostly the tyres of course. I had goodyear eagles on the D90s and was never happy with them, especially at the track, but didn't want to go to track tyres.
The front wheel and tyre combination is about 3-4kg heavier than the D90. Tyres are 225 compared with 205 and with the extra wheel size. I didn't check the back ones, which are now 265.
Unfortunately it was too dark for pictures by the time I finished putting them on but I'll try and do that tomorrow.

I noticed a huge improvement in ride quality as well. Went from old Michelin Pilot Sports to PS2s.

Here is the photo, which is not the best but is the best I could do in the time.
The tyres I had were the GSd3 and they were ok on the road but I found overheated far too quickly on the track.

The Techart Formula rims look great, nice stance also!
More pictures please!

I would guess as a general rule the lower profile sidewall of a larger diameter rimmed wheel should give more lateral stability during hard cornering. The choice and quality of tyre is probably the biggest factor though.
