Default is climate control removal tool available at most auto parts stores??

where can i find a CCU removal tool...anyone have a picture?

are they available at most auto parts stores??

You are referring to the old Blaupunkt radio removal tool to take the unit out of the dash? They are hard to find and I've not seen any in any auto parts or auto stereo stores in years. Typically most car audio guys, when removing the DIN head units that use this style clip fastener, will just use a coat hanger bent into a "U" shape (1 per side). You might want to put a small notch near the ends with a file. Supposedly this helps avoid damage to the clip and helps pull the unit from the dash. I've never bothered myself. Just insert until you feel a click, then pull the unit out while hoding the "tools" apart (away from the control unit). Sounds more difficult than it is.

I bought a set of radio removal tools from here. The first ones on the left (big "U" shaped tools) pictured below work on the CCU.

Coat hangers has worked for me with no issue, but think I pushed them in and then pushed the unit out from under the dash.
