There is a bulb in mine but it does not light. It is a factory delete because when lighted it reflects in the review mirror. Not working is normal, you don't want it to work.

Does the RS come with a full delete option to save 1/2 a gram?

I wouldn't doubt it. When Porsche was so concerned with unsprung weight they used Mag-alloy lug nuts to keep the weight down they probably saved a 1/2 a gram where they could.
