and how would you clean, prep and paint them without removing them--- or the entire engine?

I will start a thread tonight, once I can get pictures.

Valve covers are currently off, coating on the interior surface (that faces the valves, not the engine bay) is flaking.

if they are off, I'd clean prep and paint, and replace seals. I'll look at the thread later when you start it.
