Primary / secondary muffler bypass?

If you are after a great noise, no drone and some performance I can highly recommend a maxspeed primary muffler bypass, 100 cell cat pipe and exhaust tip. Looks great and sounds great with no drone. www.maxspeed-motorsports.com
Combine this with an accel racing chip from Steve (from UK on ebay) and I got a dyno proven 204kw on a certified porsche centre dyno. That's a 20kw increase for minimal outlay.
It is worth mentioning that biggest advantage of removing primary muffler rather than secondary (G-pipe) is that the primary muffler hangs at the very rear of your car so removing the weight from there is a good thing.
Hope that helps.

This is the first time I've seen this part, and I wonder why all 964's don't have this instead of their hot air intakes

In this example, the Maxspeed air intake points straight up (vs. the horizontal opening of the factory part)...I hope there are drainage holes already pre-drilled at the bottom to let water out?

I imagine you would still get a better gain from a proper pod filter installation, ie, installed so filter is located just under spoiler such as the EVOMS intake kit or by just cutting the back off your factory airbox, although I always suspected this would suck too much hot air.
Obviously the pod kits with no elbow to move filter close to cold air are a waste of time a they just suck hot air.

So are the cup cars supposed to keep out of the rain? I don't see the logic otherwise. What about when a cup car gets washed ... that snorkel would fill with water, or worse. Perhaps it has drainage holes? Do they make a whistling sound, if so?

I can't speak for every owner, but generally race cars don't get washed....most people with really expensive/rare cars don't bathe their cars in water
