Default Installing Suspension - Need some info

Need a few questions answered.

My Porsche is a 91 C2 cab with an August build date.

I ordered H&R greens
I ordered the new Koni adjustable (8741-1541) front
I ordered the bilstien for the rear (would have went koni's, but they do not make them for my build date)

I ordered all the plastic bits and pieces as discussed in another post (thanks for the info) below.

964-341-511-80 2pcs
928-612-409-00 2pcs
928-612-531-00 L 1pc
928-612-531-01 R 1pc
999-591-931-40 2pcs

I am looking for the front and rear bumps stops and the front and rear dust covers?

I see many of you were able to get blue dust covers?

Where did you get them?
How much?
What are the part#s ?

Also, I know many use bump stops on the rear and many don't. What is the consensus?

Also, how much did you cut from the front bump stop?

I was told anything with a date before 10/90 takes the old struts? My car is a 1991 with a build date of 08/90

How do I tell what is needed. This will suck especially since I had them delivered already.

Does anyone have a pic of which is old vs new?

You really do want a matched set of shocks, I'd go all koni or all bilsteins(my preference)

My car is indeed the old version. So that is confirmed.

I definately called a few places and they all agreed that mismatched are 100% fine. I wanted the adjustability up front. Thus going with the koni`s. I had no choice on the bilstiens for the rear. Not overly happy. if I dont like the setup I will change the fronts to bilstien in the fall when the car goes in for its widebody conversion.

All I need to do is order the bump stops and dust boots.

So how much of the bump stop should I cut off the fronts

And should I use the bump stops for the rear

Yes, You do have the old version. The cut off was some time in Nov 90. You could also go with KWV3 or PSS10 etc. They were all made for the early and late versions.

Not necessarily. Mine was built in September '90. Mine is a TIP cab so maybe that made a difference.

So I exchanged the Konis for the Bilstiens all the way around. I am just waiting for the new struts. I was NOT impressed by the new Koni adjustable shocks at all. No spanner nuts, they just thew a sleeve on the struts.

Question for the guys who purchased all the little bits and pieces?

900-387-024-01 4pcs (bolts for the front shox) What did you pay for these bolts? They are trying to charge me $18.00 a piece. This is highway robbery.

I paid $14.50 each from Pelican as I figured it was worth it for safety.

Mark,

i appreciate the quick response. Just sounds expensive for a few small bolts.

Sincerely,
Jeff
