All sorted? Did you need to replace to entire top?

I just fixed my top using this thread: "fixing the busted cabrio top... let the fun begin! " The B-pillar snapped and it was $75 to weld versus over a thousand dollars for a new piece.

I just can't believe the cost of replacing the pillars!!!?! How does one switch to maual operation (to help avoid this tradgedy befalling them)?

take the 2 plugs out of the back side panels and lossen the center bolt on the motors on both sides.

Thanks for the info! I just performed this mod as my motor was starting to sound like it was on it's last breath.

Not sure which plugs you mean..? Want to do this myself since the top suddenly wont go down. Motors are running but nothing happens..

there are 2 plugs about 1" in diameter on the rear side panels. They pop right out.

Had I seen this for sale a few months ago, I would have bought it.

That said, once you have the broken one out, it's not that expensive to have the broken one welded. I got mine done for free.
