Default PDAS warning light

HI,

Any advice much appreciated

My PDAS warning light and buzzer comes on once Ive been on a motorway for 3 or 4 miles, when I turn it off and restart, the light is extinguished and all appears well again, until I hit the motorway again

Car has had brake fluid changed very recently as well as having the 'bomb' bled along with the locks (fluid was disgusting in these)

I also had a look at the accelerometers and they seem ok to me

Doesnt appear to be any leakes and my pump seems ok

Ive searched the forum but most issues on here appear to include an ABS warning light which I dont get (my ABS works fine)

Its really frustrating and my indy doesnt have any immediate idea as we seem to have exhausted most of the normal suggestions

Any ideas??

TIA

How's the fluid level in the reservoir? It should be right up to the max; in my experience.

Mine gave me similar warnings for less than a day before the alternator went. Check for any unusual noises back there. Difficult to pick out given the roar of our engines. Just a thought.

Hi,

Just chirping in on this and haven't read all the info(sorry)my car has this problem at the moment and its been covered on here a lot.
Electrical arcing from the dizzy caps rotor arms and ht leads can cause the problem so can the coils and if your braking system pressure switch has gone this is also a pain.
My plan of action is:

brake pressure switch £105 uk oe dealer

caps and rotors dizzy £100 UK bosch

pair coils £120 uk bosch but been advised don't fail usually!ht leads £208 beru

I know its loads of parts and around the houses but I won't need anything for 20k miles and I don't want the mither of poor running,,,,

Is it when you hit a specific speed, or just on the motorway? I believe there is a check that indicates bad/dirty accelerometers at 100mph.

regards,

Mike

Mike,

Its happened 3 times now, all 3 have been on the motorway at approx 70MPH (the last 3 motorway journeys)

And on every occaision it has been after I have been at around that speed for 4-5 miles

I changed a lot of electric stuff to solve my christmas tree issue, but I did it in phases, you should try it.

First I´ve changed the coils (the problem was solved)

Then I´ve change distributor caps and rotors

Finally I´ve changed the plug wires (Beru originals)

I kept changing things because my car had delayed maintenance issues, but changing the coils was magical for me (I was thinking of selling the car because I couldn´t bear having those f----- lights on)

You're right, by replacing the coils, I reduced the alarms by 75%. Then when I did the wires, big :-)

I like the quality and fit of the Beru original wires. Factory labeling helps to assure proper installation. I hear on here that there are some problems with some of the Brazilian manufactured Bosch coils.
