both interiors look great - is it wearing well? it's 2 yrs since the first post ... likely looks even better with some softening
What's the trick to choosing the right grade/thickness of leather if I may ask?

Thanks for the kind words all. Two years on and it still looks great; can't fault it. I can't remember what updates that I made to this thread, but in the end the custom ordered leather turned out to be poor quality; the surface was cracking within weeks of the project being finished; no better than DIY colour kits. The supplier of the leather tried again, but David at Southbound luckily noticed that it also had problems before he continued with the 'second' trim.

Fortunately, within the time it took for the first trim, Porsche had added Carrera GT Red to their colours and other than the marbling on the original Matador Red, it is a colour match. So, we went with that. David stood by his work and re-trimed the entire interior again with the genuine Porsche leather. Southbound really are the best around, in their workmanship and backing up that work. It was supplied directly from one of Porsche's OE manufacters in Austria/Germany.

I am not sure what the exact grade is. All I know from David is that unless you specify Natural Hide (a recent option), Porsche leather is split hides (literally half hide thickness) and spray dyed, not vat dyed. Same technique used by all German manufacturers. And if you want the correct perforation pattern in the seats, it needs to be supplied by one of the original German manufacturers.

Any recent pictures of your interior to show us how it ages after 2 years?

Looks amazing, great color choice.
