Varioram Project Started

Gus,
If you want stand-alone vram activation, I would go with two RPM switches which can be had for $100 each from summitracing. This will also allow you fine tuning.
You can try to look for a 993 AC hose which would run along the back of the car to fix your AC hose problem.
What are your expectation when this project is completed? More hp or simply more torque in the low RPM range?

Gus,
I am I hearing correct? You are using the stock 964 Motronic ECU and wiring harness with the Vram induction system? Please elaborate. I have a 1993 964 ECU and induction system on my 1995 long block. I no it is far from optimal. I want to convert over to a Vram induction system but do not want to fool around with a new wiring harness and having to find a Euro 993 ECU.
Thanks for you time, Mark

Gus, re your AC hoses: I updated to the later 96-up hoses (about $300 used), but I've also seen someone simply reroute a set of 95 993 hoses (they are virtually all rubber) the same way as the later hoses. Not sure if 964 hoses are different (at a glance the look similar) than the 95 993 hoses.
Cheers,
Joe

Joe - Problem with the 964 AC hose is the aluminum tubing right as it comes into the engine bay area. It bends back to the front and then across to just short of the intake area before it bends and heads to the rear across the intake manifold. If you could straighten the aluminum tubing you could make it work - I think need to get the 993 - 96 hose - The line needs to come to the rear as it comes into the engine bay - run along the left side of the engine (by the rear fuse box) then bend to the right and go by the distributors and over the fan to the compressor at the rear of the engine - You just can't make the 964 lines do that. The other mod that would really be nice would be to change to the 993 fuel lines, rails and regulator as this would clean up the multi-fuel line mess in the middle area under the manifold hose.
Oh! have traced the leak up to the check valve so far - hope that is it -

ACSGP - I am hoping that it is just a matter of getting the hose and putting it on - hoping that both ends mate up without any issues. But right now that i not a major problem, as the last thing I need right now is a functional AC. Other issues that you will run into are the cruise control - need to obtain a 993 cruise control mount - modify mount to fit around fuel lines or - best move is to get 993 fuel lines and regulator as it is a simpler system and opens up room under the Varioram for the cruse control -
