Default look to buy 964 widebody cab in Hong Kong

Hi, I'm looking for a euro-spec 964 factory widebody cab, ideally located in Hong Kong (I would consider buying one in Europe and importing but needs to be RHD), high preference for a manual.

Please PM me if you have one or know of one, especially if there is interest in partial trade for a 993 cab (white/blue, tip, 30k km).

Thanks!
David

tall order....there were only about 1000 turbo look cabs (aka "america roadster) produced & sold 92 through 93. about 250 came to N.A. lots went to Japan (but all are LHD and tips), ROW versions are mostly in continental Europe as far as I know (germany may be largest home & therefore LHD).

great repository of knowledge on these turbo looks is Norbert (German) who maintains a registry here &
if you have not done so you might also register & post a "seeking" in Norbert's turbo-look registry
http://www.turbo-look.de/index.php?lang=en

Norbert is a rennlister (handle is TL-Register) and you should send him a pm - he may just likely know how many right winger turbo look cabs exist...i expect pretty skinny market.

Thanks Gerry !

I have found 28 RHD Turbo-Look Cabs till today!
British "Porsche Experts" talk of 24 Cars for the UK markets, without any prove for these numbers.

There is a nice yellow/black one for sale in HongKong offered as " America Roadster " but with tiptronic ...

wide Regards from Germany

In addition to the yellow/black one I just came across a black/grey as well as a silver/red widebody cabs for sale in HK....unfortunately both are tiptronics but I will probably try to see at least one of them this weekend. Is it possible to tell from the VIN if a car is a factory widebody? Or is there an option code?

Yes, Japan is a RHD country but a lot of the Porsches there are LHD....there is a certain cachet of having a foreign LHD car that was imported into Japan. The 5 people I know in Tokyo who have P-cars all have LHD cars that were imported into the country.

Well, I guess I've heard of weirder things in Japan!

it is ...but japan allows left wingers (with no issue or special plate/license req'd) and virtually all porsche (in fact i have never seen a rhd porsche in all my yrs there) are LHD.

here are about 1100 listings for p-cars in japan.....you are welcome to scroll through page by page to find a RHD (click on any picture to get detailed pics of each car)

that's a sweeping statement - looks better to you and to some - but hard to argue with turbolook cab or a speedster.
in any event if thats your cup of tea go for it....think david is trying to track down a '92 widebody cab

A lot of the manual P-cars left HK when the US$ depreciated a few years ago....a lot of the 964s, 993s, TTs and RSs left for Oz and Europe. Not sure I agree that it looks better than a cab, but I already have a TT so that already checks the coupe "box" and I'd have no reason to drive this if I bot it
