Default Wheel fitment question

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if a set of wheels in the following size and offset would fit my NB 911?

18x8 front et50
18x11 rear et56

I'd run 225/40 and 275/35/18's for tires.

Thanks in advance!

derek

The fronts will be fine but I think you'll be hard pressed to fit an 11" wheel in a narrow body, regardless of offset. IMHO ET56 is too tight anyway unless you use spacers, but I'm pretty sure the 11" wheel/275 tyre will foul the bodywork.

Regards

Dave

As long as the rim does not hit the suspension strut on the inside, it doesn't matter how wide the rim is. Normally. it's the tire outside that will rub against the fender. What rims and ET do you have now? If a 9", a 10" and an 11" all have an offset (ET) of 56mm, the 275 tire will have the exact same offset to the fender. The ET56mm is the horizontal distance from the vertical center of the wheel to the bolting flange. Normally a NB 964 (and 993and 996) can use ET56 rims up to 11". If you have too little clearence between tire and fender, you can use a base ball bat and roll the fenders. However, an 11" rim can take 305 to 315 tires, and that will not work on a NB car. But with your 275's? Go ahead!
