No sound from front speakers
I took the 964 out over the weekend and noticed that I had no sound from the front speakers. Rears seem to be working fine.
I replaced the fronts several years ago (Infinity's) so I'm sure both speakers haven't died. I don't have an amp - I just use the built in amp of the head unit - so I can't see that there is anything common that could cause the front speakers to fail unless it's the head unit itself.
Am I missing something obvious, or is it likely something has died in the head unit (Alpine)?

Bad connector at the back of the head unit ?
Unplug / replug and see ?
My vans head unit sometimes fails to turn on ,
I have to flip the face of it down and then press it back into the latched position to make it happy .
Sometimes I turn off the fronts when I just want a little mood music in the back .
