I should said that you start by opening the sunroof a little.

Thanks. I have pried the leading edge of the panel from the sunroof. The front half appears to bend enough to clear the channel but the back half is not nearly as pliable. Perhaps it just needs a stronger handling. I'm trying to be careful and avoid a total headliner project.
