I'm a big fan of Macallan...941MXVET
Whenever Macallan comes up, it brings Rush drummer Neil Peart to mind, as it's his favourite.

Peart's a talented and fascinating guy, and he mentions Macallan from time to time in his book "Ghost Rider", which is an account of his recovery from the deaths of his wife and daughter. He took an indefinite leave from the band and went touring on his motorcycle for a couple of years. It's a pretty good read.

I had no idea, I'll check out the book, thanks.

Islay single malts for me - preferably a Bowmore 17 year old. Balvenie Double Wood another favourite with a distinctive flavour.

Only ever had Johnny Walker Blue Label once when was upgraded on a BA flight - at £150 a bottle it is something I draw the line at as being too expensive for myself. Green label is nice but not the same!

Porsches and Scotch, Porsches and Scotch,
Everyone wishes for Porsches and Scotch.
How do we measure their worth?
Just by the pleasure they give here on earth. . . . . . .

Sipping on a Glenfiddich 12 after spending an afternoon trying to find a gift for our 35th wedding anniversary tomorrow. To celebrate that, and toast the solstice (10:47 a.m. MST) I've got some Dalwhinnie 15.

I'm going to have to make a list of Rennlister favourites to try out. Then, when I take a sip, I'll have the added benefit of knowing that another P-car enthusiast enjoys it as well.

But that Tamdhu sounds interesting.

I was able to try Dalwhinnie at our PCA Christmas party for the first time and REALLY enjoyed it. It's one of my new favorites!

I love this forum, the best of all worlds!

Now, as for my two cents.....

I prefer an Aberlour 10 year. Not too pricey, but a very dynamic taste.
Of course two fingers of JW Blue Label and a good CAO cigar on a friday night with the guys cannot be beat!

Porsche and Scotch, have I died and gone to heaven!!

I was at a little party yersterday afternoon and the host asked me to polish off a bottle he had that he didn't care for. It was Speyburn 10. It was very good. I'm hoping it is inexpensive. He wasn't sure, as it was a gift. It's comparable to Glen Rothes but a little less sharp. Less burn. Glen Rothes is excellent too though.

On of my favorites is Springbank 15 (Campbeltown). Sip it neat for a taste that starts like a Macallan and finishes with some of the peat of a Laphroaig.

Wow! Great video. I have great respect for Carlyle. Apparently it took 40 takes. Can you imagine how many times he got close and had to start over again.

I'm loving Lagavulin.....

Taking a small road trip to a store south of Nashville tomorrow that has a great scotch selection. I'm taking my big burly Scottish mate along. I hope we both fit in the P car. Especially with a couple cases of Scotch!

After seeing the video, I posted earlier that I was thinking of getting my father-in-law, long faithful to Johnny Walker (red and black), a bottle of Gold Label. Well, the cashier at the sprits shop about knocked me down with the price - $160 for a fifth! So I downshifted to Green Label (a paltry $60). I'm sure he'll love it, and I hope to have a wee bit.

After my Tamdhu runs out I plan to revisit this thread for new Scotch options. Thanks for all the tips!
