Yeah...but the guy has a decent post count (not that this necessarily means anything). If anyone has any experience please let me know (half considering just to have).

A lot of 993 guys have bought Mark's wires and been happy. I haven't been able to find a thread here or on Pelican where someone complained about the quality.
At $139 I've ordered a set in red so we'll see...

I believe these are just the wires, requiring you to splice to your existing connectors.
That process does not always go as smoothly as planned, and the connectors themslves are subject to wear as well.
Just a thought.

And if anybody unscrews their OEM ignition cable from their connectors, this is exactly what they will find...just as the ones on the replacment cables...
Its a no-brainer. I actually made up my own set earlier this year.
I've put together diagrams of where the cable hold-downs go for anyone else replacing just the ignition wires.
Pics of the "numbered" ignition wire locations on the caps are also shown in the above link.

Cricky Alex - that's a great DIY.
I just bought a set of cables for the full price.
Got a question for you - when I measure the resistance of my old cables I get some that give no reading. What has actually failed in this instance - and what needs to be changed to correct it?
TIA

I'm kind of surprised that nobody came up with any of that info (individual cable lengths & cable hold-down locations, etc) considering how long our cars have been around.
It could be a failed cable (highly unlikely) or a failed spark plug cap (more likely).
Unscrew the ends from the cable (you might need some silicone spray - the rubber seal tends to stick) and now do a resistance check on the cable and each individual end (spark plug and distributor cap ends). The spark plug cap should measure 3K ohms. You will need a length of steel or copper rod (welding rod works) to insert into the long end of the spark plug cap to make contact with probe of your DMM.
See my chart to see what my spark plug caps measured at.

Thanks Alex
That just sorted two of my cables out. Looks like water is getting in some how. Unscrewing the ends and cleaning up the connection fixed it. Not so lucky for the other cable as the neck of the long connector as snapped - I have no idea how this could have happened. I'll replace it with the new set.
That DIY should be a sticky somewhere in this forum. Would have saved me 500 bucks if I had found it before I ordered the new cables.

993 Beru Silicone Copper "replacement" Ignition Leads
Its for a 993, but 964ers can use the info on how the cables are made and take away any other info that may be helpful to them.
