that's it- just Monday. Didn't get the oil changed, and now we're supposed to get 9-12 inches of snow. Might have to change it tonight. Just busy weekend prepping the snow blower for winter use, and then a visit with Santa for my 3 yr old. The wonder of Santa Claus is great to watch. I'll post up a picture later.

So is anyone making plans for Parade 2010? It's almost in my back yard- St. Charles, IL. Just about 1.5 hrs south of me. Interested to hear how many might be going.

The look is precious:

I had a busy weekend but no P-car time. We received our first snow and the salt trucks were out spreading the rust causing menace. The 964's are officially parked for the winter.

I was able to get a storm door installed. The process was pretty straight forward. I think I did well. Only 1 extra trip to Lowes. We picked up the door in the morning. After we starting the process, I discovered I needed a 1/4 by 1 by 8 ft shim to center the door. Back to the store. I doubt I'm the only one. Some projects have taken up to 4 trips to finish. Anyway, I kept wishing I had installed this sooner in the season. The temp was in the low 30's and it was misting. Very cold.

Sunday, after shoveling the driveway (3-4" of snow), my girlfriend and I hung xmas lights in the trees.

No plans to go to Parade. I've been to 5 parades and find them too repetative. Same concours, banquets, etc.

Hawk, that is a great Santa and kiddo pic! She looks like Mom.

Saturday was an indoors kind of day. It was cold, wet, and rainy snow, my friend came over for drinks.

Saturday night about 3:30 am some drunk tried to drive his Volvo through a Locust tree next to my house. Tree 1 Volvo 0. I called the police and ambulance while someone was helping the driver and passenger stumble out of the car. Before I knew it, all parties got in another car and drove off leaving the Volvo in the road?!?!

The Parade is a bit far.

Nice pic Hawk!

I have a bunch of clients in Chicago and might try to conveniently book a trip that week so I can stop by St. Charles... Definitely going to the 2011 Parade in Killington, VT as it's a lot closer

Hawk:
Where you at in Wisconsin? Grew up there and went to college in Madison.
Winter question for you or anybody else who can answer: I live in a cold, snowy, salty area as well. My plan is to let the new 964 sit in garage for weeks on end for next couple months. Should I fire it up every so often to keep the parts oiled?

No. Fill up the gas tank to the brim, inflate the tires an additional 5-10 PSI and call it a season.

Racin- born and raised in Racine. There now too until my wife has her way. You could put stabil in the tank, but top it off too. Don't bother starting- it just wastes gas. You won't get it up to normal temps, which help burn off the condensation that can build up. It's bad for both motor and exhaust.

Its going all the way down to 60 degrees tonight. Should I be thinking about storing my car for the winter
It was a rainy first half of the weekend but yesterday was perfect top down driving weather especially since my heater is working again and I can warm up the cabin with the windows up/top down. Its near 80 outside today and going to 85 tomorrow

Jim, that's a 15 month penalty for taunting- now ship the Turbo up here for the duration of the penalty.

Hawk: I grew up in Kenosha and spent the summer at Road America. Thanks, all, for info on storing the car. Will top it off at first available opportunity: Expecting 2-4 inches of snow here in KC tonight and then, probably, four to five feet of salt.

Agree on the Stabil if you're really not going to touch it for a while. Gas formulations these days are pretty volatile and start to go bad 60 in days.
I also use an upper-cylinder lube in the gas called Uplon, for a little added protection.

Don't forget to keep the battery up.
