Great looking Ruf tribute, Russ! Love the GP White! Thanks, Kai. I've checked the RSA.net site, and have seen Steve's track RSA. There's a red track RSA there also. Not looking for another track car (have one already see avatar).

Any time. It would be an interesting exercise for me, and a worthy cause. Let me know if you're serious, amd want an experienced set of eyes (and butt) on this car.

I first saw RSA for sale about three weeks ago. I agree with kaiB, if you want a track car buy one already set up.

My 964 has Bilstein HD/Eibach and 17" wheels (215F/255R), the rest is stock. I also enjoy my bone stock 6-GT3 on the weekends.

I'll have to agree with Christallon. The GT3 is such a great car and its limits are beyond me at the track and especially on the street. The problem I find is that it's too fast for public roads when driven with some spirit (not sure how those 800hp Protomotive guys get away with it). Both cars are extremely fun to drive, but the 964 is more suited for the street IMO. Even with a very mild suspension setup and a good alignment, the 964 handles amazing and the sound from the air cooled motor never gets old. The GT3 is another beast, so if you drive one, enjoy with caution.

My RSA is by far the most rewarding car i've driven. Drove a 09' GT2, INSANE, power but numb on track. The owner drove my RSA and couldn't stop smiling.......and went out a second time.
You do really feel like the car rewards you driving it well! Plus, it is unique........

Update on my C2 upgrades: See below for a list of very worthy upgrades: Bottom line, this is a different machine now! I love it! This is a post from a year ago after I completed the upgrades:

Well after a little more than 2 years of ownership, I am ready to introduce my C2. I waited till now as I had a long list of upgrades I wanted to perform before posting pics. I found this car in New Mexico after a 6 month search. I stumbled upon an ad in the Auto Trader online. I quickly rang the owner and asked my set list of questions. All good, until he mentioned there was another local man ahead of me having the car PPI'ed. My heart sank. It turns out the man was a 944 guy and really didn't understand 911's. The PPI came back with a worn clutch (turned out to be a front main seal leak that oiled the clutch plate) and some leaking oil from the left bank of heads. It's an early 91, no head gaskets. The guy passed, and I jumped on it. I flew to New Mexico early on a cold Feb. Saturday morning from LA, and met the owner at the airport. The minute I saw the car pull up, I knew it was going to be mine. It sported the factory ride height, D-90's, a half leather interior, tinted windows (unfortunately), 993 AC Head unit; and a very clean appearance all around. We finalized the deal. and I set off immediately for my 925 mile drive home. I left Albuquerque at noon, and figured I'd spend the night along the way. The car was so damned good, that I drove straight through and arrived on my door step at midnight, the same day. Awesome!!!!

So here are the details of the car from the factory: GP White/Black; C2 5 speed; Half leather interior; cruise control & factory amp.

The Mods so far in no particular order are:
-4 piston brakes rear
-Ate Blue/Gold
-Textar pads (street); Hawk Blues (track)
-Light Weight RS flywheel/GT3 clutch plate
-Heater Bypass tube (factory)
-Wevo motor mounts (black pillows) (Blues in the garage)
-Steve Wong 91 Octane Chip
-Turbo Cup 1's 7's & 9's
-Hankook Ventus R-S3's 225/45 & 255/40
-RSA Cloth sport seats
-Kenwood KDC-MP342U IPOD friendly head unit
-6 speakers factory
-Coco mats F&R
-Fresh Major service
-Euro Clear Front bumper-ettes
-Straightened smile
-KWV3 suspension set at 80% hard
-RS adjustable sway bars F&R (F-1 from hard)(R-middle)
-Full alignment & corner balance(5 MM higher than RS)
-RS drop links front
-Cat bypass with fresh O2 sensor
-Primary Cup pipe
-Aero Mirrors (RSA manual adjust)
-Tower brace
-H4's with 55/60 bulbs (no relays)
-Mod .07 Suede Cup wheel

Further planned upgrades:
-RSA door cards
-Clear corners (maybe, I like the amber color)
-ZF LSD (in garage now)

Car currently weighs 2,990 Lbs

The car has been transformed over the past 2 years from a very agreeable driver to a focused weapon that will split aggressive spirited road work, with occasional track work. (my first track day in this car will be May 12th at Buttonwillow.)

So without any further ado....here she is....Isabella (so named by prior owner)

I'd forgotten about this thread and am glad it has resurfaced.

I own 1993 RSA since 2000 and 2004 GT3 for many years. I was conviced my RSA is more fun to drive that I added another 964 euro spec cup car to my collection about 5 years ago. I found RSA + Euro RS suspension package + ZF 40% LSD + race seat + spare tire weight at front together make a balance 911 both dry and wet condition. Fun and reward to drive at limit. It gives very rich feeling from the car and makes easy to learn driving techniques. I can't find the same satifaction from my 2004 GT3. It took me long time to set up my 964 cup car to be as good balance as my RSA with street tire. I hope my experence can help.

I have a 04 GT3 which I love. I like it better for street use than my 10 GT3 RS because its limits are lower. I understand what you guys are talking about. I have driven a couple of RSA's, and they were ok but not anywhere in the same league as a 996 GT3 imo. The GT3 is still a pretty raw car with no electronic nannies. I do want a RSA though but it is harder to find a really clean one. Can I get a regular 964 C2 and set it up similar to a RSA?

Very well said.

Sure thing, as a matter of fact, this may be wiser than the inverse.

I have a RSA which is absolutely no longer a RSA beyond the decals on her flanks. No regrets whatsoever, as my purchase of the original car was not dictated by the fact that it was a RSA.

Yes, and you can turn it up a few notches higher than that also and create quite an amazing car. The 964 shell is a strong foundation for mods.

Instead of shooting for RSA, go for RS +10mm.
