You should plan a driving holiday Morten and take in a track day at Silverstone. A full day costs about £300 and it's well worth the money to know that you're sharing a track and garages that some of the Motorsport greats have raced on.
Steve,

that would be an awesome idea. I may have to look into that idea next season. One thing is for sure, a trip to Nürburgring is a must next year.

Interesting.
The driver of the 993 was not heel-and-toe downshifting - thus causing the additional brake effect when he released the clutch. The 993 was outbraking the 964 going into most if not all corners but, with the above, he was effectively braking mid corner...

I noticed that too. It was one of the reasons why I put this topic here for the enjoyment of 964 enthusiasts who would appreciate how the leading 964 moves around and keeps its younger, stronger sibling at bay . If I had posted in the racing forum (which I also enjoy and frequent to learn stuff) I fear the topic would have turned into a critique of the driver.

Wowza!

Those are just soooo cool to watch! Evokes a huge 964 pride in me! Thanks for posting those - just wonderful!

Caught a bit of the Monterrey historics at Laguna Seca on Speed the other day - it's all such exciting, door-handle-to-door-handle racing in these old 911's. It's the ESSENCE of racing!

Many thanks for posting - made my day!

good vid, i like a lot.

if you ask a 993 driver which is quickest they allways say that the 993 rear suspension makes for a quicker car!
not true.

I believe the 993 in the vid had better brakes and better suspension, but the 964 looked to be quicker. It does appear the 964 did a little blocking at times, but that may have been the line he chose. Looked like a quicker turn in, so he was aways closer to the entry point, thereby protecting the line. The 993 driver chose to take an outside line in most cases and wanted to come under the white car, if/when he made a mistake, which he rarely did. It's very difficult to lead like that with another car so close, and not give up a position. Very enjoyable!!!!

Great racing, and I see they have no rules/penalties for making contact with one another.

They'd be good monitors for Rennlist.
