Recaro seat
#16
Russ has the same seat mounts as me that are made by Southbound trimmers specially for the recaro PPs so that the seat sits as low as possible to ensure there is enough head room. These have a welded nut in the mounts to bolt the receiver to, as shown in this pic:
My guess is that this mount point is too far back for the standard receiver. Hence why Russ's are below the side of the seat. When I tried this on mine they were the same with the added problem that the buckle was fouling the centre console. So, I've got mine routed through the side holes (like Bill Verburg). Personally, I think this is the way they should be as it means the belt fits snuggly across my lap. However, Russ is a bit too large for this method
Here's a pic of how mine are routed. I also have 4 point harnesses for track use:
I guess bracket #24 might be worth trying to mount the receiver but at the moment I'm struggling to see how this will help. I think the receiver will still be too short. I think the problem is more related to the height of the side of seat and that this could be linked to the side mounts?
Russ, would 8 inch receivers be any better? Boxster ones are 8 inch and a lot more flexible than 964 receivers. However, you would have to change the whole belt because the buckle is smaller. Used boxster seatbelts from breakers should be pretty cheap.

I noticed that Bill V's seats were equipped with a very different inboard piece than mine.
Bill V's
Here's what's in my car and it measures 8". It's a stock piece and the same type I've had in both my 964's. Part no. on the driver's side is 964 803 183 01:
Passenger's side part is 964 803 183 00
And here's how far it reaches relative to the bolster:

Joey, Bill is using the rear belt receivers because they are flexible (when the plastic sheath is removed) and therefore are easy to route through the holes. I did this too (in fact I think I gave Bill that tip). This won't help Russ because a] they are shorter than the front receivers and b] he's got a big butt! (he won't mind me saying this )
However, I think the pic you posted of Bill's seat shows that the #24 bracket puts the bottom of the receiver a bit higher up than the welded nut in the sidemount shown in my pic above. What do you think? If so, I think this could solve his problem by bringing the top of the receiver level with the seat. I believe he needs spacers aswell if he's going to fit the bracket? And what is the part number for #24 bracket?

Hi Steve- So you WANT to route your belt through the side hole? My SPG's are so snug that I would have never considered that option. But if it works for you guys, that's great. Part no. 964.521.065.00
Brey Krause also has an option for approx $70 each. It actually looks taller. http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/store/s...krause-harness
As for Russ, unless the 8-inc Factory piece is too short, I guess he could try the alternative mounts or look into this Sport Seat option previously mentioned.
Keep us posted!

In the thread referenced in my response above(4th answer) are all the part #s

Thanks Joey and Bill for the part numbers. The prices of the RS parts aren't too bad at £15.23 for the bracket and £3.34 each for the washers. Sounds like that might be the next thing for Russ to try.

Thanks everyone for the help, ur all gents.
But iam defo that there are different length seat belt receivers. My standard ones r 6"ish and the 993rsr belt receivers that i measured r 9"roughly!
I looked at where they bolt and they look about the same, go measure your belt receiver.
Ill go measure mine again.
Any one got a proper Rs/Rsr? Any chance you can measure yours .
Just checked again my belt things are 6" if they where 9" they would be level with the seat side, same as a factory rs/rsr.

One other thought, Russ. The side bracket you and Steve are using appears to have the rear mounting pointing set relatively high. That might be the part of the reason why your bolster--not your belt--is located so high.
I've got SPG's, so not apples-to-apples, but the seat attaches much closer to where the belt bolts on.
For comparison
Your belt may be an inch lower than mine but it's not that big a difference.

I've recently fitted a pair of PP's using Southbound subframes and my receivers sit level with the side of the seat. Don't have any pics to hand but will be at the Curborough sprint day tomorrow if anyone wants to have a look.

Just tried got a belt receiver from 944, 9" long but the belt in my 64 dosnt fit! Part no 92880318310
My 64 belt looks wider.
The metal part dosnt fit into the 44 belt reciver. They must have different seat belts!
Back to the breakers tommoz.
Group 911, are the recivers in the pic from a 964?
I think i may need joeys belt recivers, the ones with the 964 part no.
