Speedster is the only cab I have owned in dozens of 911's. Love to see the cobalt blue one, I was not aware there was one made in that color.

Jaime, that's some serious piece of Speedster.. WOW.. Has to be a one-off. It seems like they fitted the 3.8 RS speedlines..

I'll raise your £45K, This looks like top money. Maybe I should hack the roof off my coupe

Jamie, that second picture is just about the best 964 picture I have ever seen, love the loooow lines.

Chop nothing... replace the parts with Speedster parts...

Start with this...

hidFusion-- You're doing great for your 3rd post. Glad to see you 1st on a 993 Speedster thread, & now taking the advice to try the 964 forum. Please post pix of your cobalt blue beauty.

Jaime-- Very well done, sir. Excellent eye. Auto Sports has unique stock, & talented photographers.

When you have LOTS of spare time, enjoy their inventory (includes sold vehicles, like the black wide-body 964 Speedster): car stock list.

Check out the perfect lighting that shows off new paint, killer curves, AND accents the otherwise subdued black rear logo in ideal illumination:

I squander much of my life finding rare parts on-line, but don't think I've ever seen this factory-look CF steering wheel.

(Before immediately dissing the Tiptronic transmission, remember their buying market... IIRC, automatics are more highly sought in Japan, to the degree it's a rarity to really know how to drive a standard trans. Please correct if anyone has more personal experience, but I've heard horror stories of well-intentioned Nihongo-ites burning out clutches, etc., of exotic cars because of lack of familiarity. It's my impression that buyers of their used stick trans sports cars really have to be wary of unintended abuse. Apologies if I'm culturally off-base. I'm open to learning more about the sports car particulars of other countries.)

Veering off-course, but while still awaitng the OP's pix:

Auto Sports' blue 450 HP wide-body 993 cabriolet made a pleasant distraction on the 993 forum's "Cabriolet in wide body?" thread...

[Subliminal message to our Japanese Porsche enthusiast brethren at this company: please find/ create a 993 Speedster! I for one would luv to see your photos of one you've designed, if it dould become a reality. Domo.]

I was pretty sure that I had seen a cobalt blue 964 speedster somewhere, and thought it was Barry Bond's Strosek conversion... Turns out his car started out as a WHITE 964 speedster, and was painted Maritime Blue by Strosek...

I just did a Google search and came up with the following speedster which sold at auction this past January ('09). Turns out, it is maritime blue as well AND it has a factory RS engine under the hood!

"Once again another Seinfeld Porsche has crossed the auction block and sold at what some might say is a premium price. Last week, at the Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale Arizona, Seinfeld’s 1994 Porsche 911 Speedster sold for $101,200 (that price includes a 10%) buyer premium."

hdfusion - I can't wait to see pics of your COBALT 964 Speedster!

Default Black Speedster

I actually looked at buying that black Speedster in Japan - in the in the flesh it is at least as good as it looks in the photos. Yes, 993 GT2 Speedlines on the car.

The drawbacks were relatively high mileage for a Japanese car (about 58K kilos), high price (over 12 million yen firm), and relatively thin documentation on the conversion, although the quality of the work seemed very high. Also, the "LV" style interior did not work too well for me compared to the mean exterior look.

so....really to have a wide body speedster (notwithstanding it would ruin value of turbo look cab)....its a few bolt ons, color match and new top (even get to delete top motors!)....so if this was to be my last car-resale not an issue....wow. truly foxy looking car.

and "gasp"
can you imagine a raspberry red speedster

Wow, looking at your site and then checking "Car Sensor" which i consider a car bible for watch check on Japanese Porsche prices...the 964 values have gone sky high in the past 4-5 yrs. Not sure if values in Japan make sense anymore for export market (like they use to) with high currency value of JPY....and plus $3000 to crate and ship (notwithstanding Nihon-no caruma tend to be low mileage/rust free).....guess best focus for Japan will be S'pore, mainland china and Oz??

Quick Reply: Maybe a RARE 964 Porsche Speedster??
