Any comments on this book before I buy it? Is there a more "DIY" book I should consider? Thanks.

Every 964 owner should read the book. It should be passed along when the car is sold. Very useful and informative.

Honestly it is one of best sources of information for our cars. Combined with the Workshop and parts manuals it is possible to figure anything out about our cars.

Its not a shop manual, but it covers just about everything that the shop manuals don't. I highly recommend adding it to your library. Don't expect it to be the one book you open and find a lot of shop specs, though. It does explain systems management and operation.

My only beef is that I bought mine new from Amazon and the binding was terrible. The book started falling apart on the very first read in my office.

I'll second amr89c4's comment. It's not really a DIY manual more of an informative book. I purchased both it and the "Porsche Carrera 911 1989-1994 Technical Data- Without Guesswork"

Both from Bentley, and a good complement to each other.
