Default 964 C4 Turbo

Hi all

Just wondering was there ever one produced or created?

Nope. All the Turbos before the 993 Turbo were just rear wheel drive from the factory. However, I do remember someone having a modified C4 fitted with a turbo motor - it may have actually been from a 993 Turbo actually! The guy was on Rennlist I think.

Andy/all

Do you remember if it was a narrow body?

Thanks for the response

Isn't there a Ruf CTR based on a narrow body C4 kicking about somewhere?

Yes. This particular example, however, appears to have been converted to a RWD car.

Yes, and it is a nice one.

Yes, I remember is being a narrow body with about 600bhp and that you could adjust the boost depending on how much of a sleeper you wanted it to be! Seem to think it was white to. It's going back a few years though!

There is one that is in the kentucky area. Iirc it is a turbo performance piece. Saw it at putnam one time, it blew the clutch apart and went home before I got a chance to talk to him about it. Seemed quick when it ran.

Huh...
Hadn't noticed that till now: Ruf cars sometimes retain the "PORSCHE"-moniker'd taillights. (I'd thought they changed that out like they do the hood badge.)
As with the one mentioned above, for instance:

That car is a conversion. It was not manufactured by Ruf. Has a Porsche VIN, etc. I agree that the center reflector could have been changed if desired, however.

Look for posts by the user C4TT. It was his car. He's not posted for about a year though and I think he did actually sell it. Here's a photo...

Narrow body and 420hp; want. Do Ruf still do the RCT conversion? I can't afford it, I'm sure, but nice to know if I could.

There have been a few 964 turbos converted to AWD. Not sure why you would want to. Might as well buy a 993TT. Although for me if i purchased a 993TT I would convert it to RWD.

"Not sure why you would want to. Might as well buy a 993TT" - Because they are ugly jelly molds? and some think 4WD is as good, if not better than RWD; shock, horror!
