964 C4 Turbo

I can't argue with that. As far as better that is depending on your criteria. For me AWD kills the fun factor that is so much the essence of the 965.

AWD is safer, sticks better... but fun factor goes down considerably... nothing like that OHHHHSHHHIIITTTT feeling when the turbo kicks in a 2wd car...

I do remember that one precisely. I chatted with him it was in 2002 or 03 I think. He was running a Motec ECU (not sure it was a M48 or M800) on a stock M64 3.6 engine with turbo pistons. He had kept the NA cams. 632 HP. The car seemed to be amazing...

I definitely agree. I still remember the first time a drove a turbo 3.3
320hp on that car was a lot. While 320 hp on a 996 C4 is kinda boring...

Must admit the PDAS system can be annoying when having fun coming out of a slow corner. Just need to get in the habbit of tapping the brake pedal with your left foot to shut it up. My criteria for AWD can be defined by two words; temperate climate.

The PDAS on the 964 is pretty cool, actually more sophisticated than the 993 one and allowed for instance the four wheels to drift (experienced with the C4 on snow and water).
I have observed it for a while and this is my understanding: I think it doesn't brake more than two wheels at a time. It brakes one rear wheel and activates the LSD, if it spins again then it locks the visco and sends something like 50% to the front. On the front it can brake one wheel at a time, independently on the status of the rear. This is actually a brilliant traction system, and I think the more modern ones are not better.
