Default Momo Steering Wheel install

Has anyone put in an aftermarket (Momo) steering wheel in their car. Wondering what you did about the airbag light and how you can "trick" it into thinking the airbag is there. Anyone with any experience..... Wachuko I know you have an idea.

I will have to ask someone else to chime on this one. My car came with a Momo steerting wheel already installed. So did not have to deal with removing the airbag and disabling the light.

From a post from John52

- Momo 7004 hub
- Porsche horn contact bracket Part # 964.652.104.00
The Porsche horn bracket is pushed into the metal plate in front of the turn signal brackets, at around 1 o'clock. Push it in until it clicks into place.

There are a variety of opinions, methods to bypass the airbag light ,etc.
I chose to do it the way Porsche did for their Cup Cars , which is a simple little part called a bridge plug that bypasses both front airbags.
- Porsche Airbag Delete Bridge Plug Part# 928.612.220.00. It is a cheap part (under $10) snd makes the whole process easily reversible should you sell the car.

And the mandatory photo

I disabled mine with the airbag delete bridge and installed the horn contact like john52 did. I actually think I followed his directions. Works great, and is easily removable when I need too.

I have a wheel left over from my M3 that I was going to use. Wife lugged it on her back for 3 months while back packing for me before we got married kinda sentimental. My friend picked up a brand new one from a guy in New Jersey for $150.00 USD, but he did not have hubs. He said he had quite a large selection.

There is someone in Montreal selling a momo fighter wheel, but it is a 350mm, a little larger than what I am used to. $150 is what we negotiated, but then found out it was a 350mm. Ad is in the member to member classifieds, user name Sysgen.
