Monday - what can I say?
Had a busy weekend with the in-laws. Took my daughter to her first waterpark and she was not a huge fan of water in her face. She got better the last hr we were there. Not much Porsche related, except we did our last McDonalds show last Thursday. I played around a bit with the 24-70mm lens and polarizing filter. I'll post up a few shots. I was the only exotic there, the rest were typical muscle cars.
this week, I hope to get my new garmin up and running and possibly run the route for our breakfast run scheduled on the 17th. I need to understand the new garmin compared to my old one. I'd hate to have 20 cars behind me asking which way to go....
so what about you?

sighted tomato-stealin' squirrel Sunday afternoon. pellet'd same.
Am looking into trying out this little car photo technique. Want to see others try it, too! (Jensen Stag?)
Otherwise, took the girlfriend around Sat morning for breakfast and light shopping duties. Got to show her how police Love to give 'escorts' to sprightly-driven red 911's. (He-he... they'll never catch me doing anything stupid. But a cop's dreams runs eternal.)

Only real Porsche related thing for me was helping out Nick get his new to him 964 air and oiled up for the ride home to Canada. Sure hope he made it ok.
I did kill a coral snake that was coming out of the girlfriends garage saturday morning. I normally dont kill any snakes as we have lot of them around but something that can kill you in a matter of a few hours isnt good to have crawling around the yard

No Porsche activity this weekend either. I had friends over for a party on Saturday. The weather was perfect (70 and sunny). Party was a big success. Sunday was rainy/gloomy, so I ran a few errands with the girlfriend but that's about it.
Last Mon and Tues, I did two days of DE at Lime Rock with PCA. This left me with 3 days of work to do a week's work. I was very tired on Friday night. Fortunately, I was able to catch up on my sleep on the weekend.

Saturday was the annual Porsche Timeline show and Oktoberfest at Lake Arrowhead, CA. Porsches parked throughout the Alpine village with Oktoberfest celebrations going on. Lots of cars from a 550 Spyder to the new 2010 GT3. I used to be the only 964 in the show but this year we had 3 964's.

Today I took my 964 to mechanic. need to change rear ball bearings, front dust bellows (both). The bigger part of work is getting engine down ( need to install A/C compressor bracket), replace sparks plugs and fix a little oil leak from one cylinder (think it`s bad sealing)! So I will be few days without my baby. I`ll drop by the garage tomorrow or the day after and take some pictures! Cheers

I took the 996TT back to the dealer on Saturday for them to sort my intermittent headlights. Five minutes replacing the headlight switch seems to have sorted it.
Cleaned / waxed both cars and took both out for a bit of a blast down my favourite local twisty roads on Sunday.
It's the first time I've really used the 964 since buying the TT. First thoughts when I got in it were how "right" it felt. Despite many re-adjustments, the TT seat is not as comfortable as the 964 - and the 964 definitely feels more like an extension of your own body than the TT.
I've decided the brakes are not as bad on the TT as I thought - a good stamp on them and they're pretty good - but there's no question the 964 stops quicker. Not bad for a 20 year old car.
The only negative point - although it was excellent taking the 964 out, I am going to have to re-adjust my thinking. Although I obviously expect the TT to be faster, I was shocked - and a bit disappointed - at how slow the 964 felt. My conclusion is that I need to drive the 964 more often so I appreciate it's finer qualities. Although with winter not that far away, there isn't all that long before it will sit in the garage for a few months I guess.

Friday I got a really good run in. Only 5 miles, but it was at full on race pace. Then I drank beer.
Not too much Pcar action other than planning a road trip for the mutt and me. Boston maybe. Cannot wait to see some highways, byways, and just get away. Cliff notes version of Travels with Charlie.

I agree with Hawk though. The houses are so beautiful and bold, but the volvo is visually unremarkable to the point of distracting IMHO.

tell him there shoulda been a Porsche in the drive them. I think the problem is the distortion of the car in the shot. I'm sure it was a wide angle lens which did not help the car.
the desk shot is great though. I'm jealous of the view from your deck.
