Default which wheels???

i purchased a set of cup 17" 993 wheels for my car 4 months ago and still have not mounted them because i really like the look of the original 16" cup wheels on my car...

what do you guys think?

i have to lower my car at some point but is there anyone out there with a lowered 964 with the same 16" cup wheels that are on my car??...i think mine are the 16" cup2 wheels?

I have to tell you I've always admired those 16" Cup II's (or whatever they're called). They look realy nice on your car. The only downside is that there aren't as many tire choices with a 16" wheel of that size compared to a 17".

I'm not a fan of the 17" Cup II. Well, maybe they look OK on a 944. But not on a 911. I don't like them on 993s, and I don't like them on 964s.

There you have it

Car looks great! Keep 'em.

If you're ready to lower car and yours is pre-11/90 build date, I just received a set of Bilstein HD struts and shocks and I'm offering them for sale. I just ordered them last week, then the next day had to have emergency eye surgery on my dog. I need to gather some cash to pay the vet. Will sell them cheaper than you can get them anywhere on line. I need the cash.

They were going over a set of used H&R Greens I bought from another Rennlister. Might consider selling the complete system. This was the most recommended combination for street use that I found in my research. PM me if interested.

William, post a pic with the 17" wheels in place, easier to make a more informed opinion . Wheels do make a difference, wheels that look bad on one can look a whole lot different on another. Depends on styling, colour combinations. lowering, all sorts and then its a personal preference! Having said that your looks great as is

Yeah, those wheels are cool. I had some on my previous p-car. If you DO switch, you'll probably have spacers on the rear hubs. Don't forget to remove those since you'll be going from a 70mm offset to a 55mm.

IMO it looks great the way it is. Normally I like the orange lenses but think the clears might work even better with your silver.

Personally I'm a fan of the 993 cup 2s but have never bought any because of the standard 70 mm offset on the rears...I don't like the idea of the big spacers that would be needed to make them fit.

Here's a pic of my lowered car when it had 16 inch cup 1s on:

But looks even better with 17 inch cup 1s

Go for it, Steve!

17-inch Cup II's have 55mm offsets front/rear. The 16-inch Cup II's, 993 Turbo Twists and other 993 wheel options utilize the 65mm/70mm rears but not the 17 Cups. Plus they're fairly light and reasonably-priced.

I prefer the OEM Cup 1's but not the aftermarket variant. Spoke shape is wrong.

Pete, that is a great shot of your white C2 (RSA Replica???). Typically I don't like white but the color looks so "right" on your C2.

IMHO, 17" Cup I's are almost the only wheel (save the Speedline 964 Turbo wheels) that look right on 964s. My Cup I's are black centered and if they weren't such a steal of a price new (~$600) I would have waited for a set of all silver wheels. The Cup II's are close and don't look too far out of place...for a really good price used I'd run a set...but if price was the same Cup I's (for me) win hands down each time.
