Default Interior Question.....

Hi guys are these 2 sections of the leather interior hard to remove???? I am going to Redye these as well but id prefer to do it out of the car rather than in.

My Redye is coming along nicely its going to look brand new i think. But im having trouble with a guy on ebay that i ordered an Airbrush/compressor kit from. He has not sent it and it has been 14 days now. Thats all im waiting on.

I've removed them before, off my old 964 to install a roll bar. IIRC, after you remove the black trim piece at the top, you'll have to bend the leather piece in question to make it come out. It's somewhat flexible, so be careful. Same thing when installing it back.

One other thing, I think your seat belts have to be removed as well, although I'm not positive on that one. It may have been necessary only for the roll bar install. Anyway, if you have to remove the seat belts make sure you don't let them retract all the way!

Seatbelt has to be removed and then fed through the hole in that panel. Remove the plastic trim ring around the hole and it's then big enough for the seatbelt tongue to be pushed through.. As Ilko mentioned the panel is quite flexible so you can use gentle pressure to bend the panel around the seat, but too much will see the backing foam crack.

Just to make it totally clear for you, the arrowed pieces in your picture are infact one, not two. Removal is as above from Ilko and Rotor.

I'm sure I didn't need to remove the seat belts. I think the slot it passes through was itself slotted in such a manner that allowed it to be wriggled out.

Of course, when I say 'I'm sure', it means 'I'm not sure at all but seem to remember it that way...'

You will atleast have to unbolt the seatbelt top B pillar and sill mounting points to get them out. IIRC, with the split plastic trim popped off, they feed through the then wider slot. The bolts are soft, so be careful taking them out and even more carefull putting them back in.
