As i enclosed before, it depends on your strut, there are two types of Bilstein HD's ... one has more range in the spring perches and the other one has less range. I have the second one and have the same problem.

Add to that, I recently been mounted Weltmeister front top mounts and the car raise about another 1 cmts.

Car handles fantastic and the feeling is really unbelievable now but that aesthetic part is driving me crazy

From my research so far, the "new" 993 HD has 30mm more threads.

The rear shock mount was changed in 91 and there are two different shocks available. One for 89-90 and one for 91 and up. I doubt they would impact the front end adjustments. You can't get them mixed up as it takes a bit of enegineering to use the 91 shocks and mounts in an 89 and vice versa.

Greems will genrally lower the car a little more than the Reds, so I have heard. I can easily get way below RS ride height with my Reds, but would need a bump steer kit and probably a new set of ramps to get it on the trailer!

As you can see I only have 1.5 inches on total thread. I'm already on the bottom.

Solitude...Check that you have the upper front strut mounts in the inboard position. The outboard position is for turbos and wide bodies. It is very easy to get them flipped 180 deg when installing. I don't know if it will impact the ride height, but it will play hell with the alignment.

Note the 4 bolts are offset from the centerline of the strut. The strut is biased inboard on the non tubo cars like ours.

Solitude,

You can get a little lower if you flip over the adjusting nut. If you have a copy of the PET, you'll see that the stock adjusting nut is actually flipped 180 from yours. I just removed the adjuster nuts from my stock Boge's this past weekend and they were indeed flipped 180 from yours.

I'm installing a set of used Konis (full shock, not just inserts) with a set of H&R reds. When I first put them on, I had the adjuster nuts installed like yours and had turned them all the way down and the front tire was actually almost inside the wheel arch. The car looked "slammed"...far too low. Since I didn't need to go any lower, I didnt flip the adjuster nuts, but raised each side 10 turns from the bottom as a starting point for ride height adjustment (figured it would be easier to back off the adjuster as opposed to tightening it).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Chris & Lynn,
I'll forward this to the alignment specialist and see if they know anything about this. Ray....

Are we talking about 1/4 inch or more? Thanks

This are the lowering collars what I end up with. It's nice and low without any bump steer.

I just noticed there isn't any apparent means of adjusting those things. No flats, hex, holes, or spanner cogs. Comment?

I got them from Hergeheimer Motor sports 949-458-7223 for less than $100. You will only need the fronts. It threads right on the struts. Height is adjusted turning up or down. It is sung and with the springs pressing on it will not move. Fit just fine on a Bilstine but don't know about others.
