Which way up should the spare wheel go when stored in the front trunk?
I've seen diagrams showing it stored with the outside (side that would face outwards when the wheel is fitted) downwards. However, the retaining bolt that I have is about 4 inches long, so it will only hold the spare wheel in place if it is stored with the outside facing upwards!
The outside faces down. Keeps the center of gravity lower and uses the spare wheel as a storage dish for your tire compressor and other stuff. You may have to look for a new bolt. IIRC the one I have is around 2" long. I think I have a spare one, but I won't be near the car for a couple of weeks. If you want it let me know and I'll try to find it for you, but again, it may take a while.
