Road- very cool car. Love the stripped interior too. The rebuild/restoration photos must be a blast to look at. I know I enjoyed Geoffrey's threads on the Mobil1 car.

Orange Crush:
My only suggestion would be to paint the headlight rings black to compliment the black wheels, and invoke the look of a C4 Light Weight. Beautiful car, well executed and thought out.

Alex - I still owe you a video on the exhaust whilst on the go (and a blurb come to think of it!), did you manage to have a look at the vids I posted in the GB thread for your exhaust? Been tied up with work, apologies.
hawk911 - I'll try to start a thread on the process this weekend. This is the first time I've ever been involved in a project car that has taken the rebuild process to this extent (it's essentially a brand new car) and the 12+ months it took to complete were very... interesting (for lack of a better term). Aircooleds rule in general, but the 964 is the uber-aircooled, IMHO
letsrollbabe - I thought about that, and may do it in the future. I just had a front splitter installed that is black, so I'm trying to see if there is too much black going on up front... Speaking of the C4LW, I love that car and what it represented at the time as a product of the Weissach R&D department. I'd actually thought about keeping the 4WD system in there after I'd driven the car minus the interior, and building a mock C4LW, but ultimately wanted to go with RWD.

I went to the factory in 89 to pick up a C4 (Guards Red) and although I sold it within 2 years, I still remember how great that car was. I bought a 90 C2 recently and am planning to do a few things with it (not as much as Roadsleeper), while keeping my long hood enthusiasm going. I feel these 964 911s are pretty special, being the best built bodies of the old air cooled 911 profile, and with improved trans and suspension, and with a really good engine with lots of upside potential power. I think when parked next to a group of long hoods, Roadsleeper's car would get a lot of attention....because it's really a Sports Purpose built 911(like the 67-73 R, ST, RS, RSR) with concepts that started in the late 60s. The 964s have a different character from the long hoods, but you know you are in a 911 when you get in and turn the key. With mods like those done by Roadsleeper, you get the sound and fury similar to those great MFI ST/RSR cars and the smile you get is the same. With the price of the 964s today, they are truly a bargain and more enthusiasts will stumble onto them and realize how good they really are. The other aspect is that when the factory started racing the 964s in '90, it was the first significant factory effort to make a track 911 available since those iconic days of '73 when the factory decided to build the RS/RSR for circuit competiton. The Cup cars, the 92 RS, 3.8 RSR, were like history repeating itself...and for similar reasons.
I have acquired a set of 8+9.5 Cup wheels, H&R coil overs, primary bypass, cat bypass, ....and will proceed to have some fun making the C2 into a more serious looking 911. Here are a couple of pics I took recently (before lowering) with the Cup wheels.
And...I may do black headlight rings, as many great factory competition cars had this feature. But it needs some other significant mods to go with the message it sends that 'This is a BADASS car.'

Thanks for the update Gib. Looking forward to seeing the progress. I always look forward to driving my car. I just received the Maxspeed primary by pass yesterday, so once the fires allow us back home, I will be installing that mod.
BTW, you have a PM.
Thanks.
