An ounce or two is more than sufficient.

As a side note, the main reason why we use Delvac instead of LS is to help the (lame) factory LSD's do their job by making the clutch plates inside the diff bite harder. Using the Mobil LS product prevents the "stick-slip" of the LSD's plates that causes judder when you make a turn.
When Porsche halved the number of plates in the ZF LSD in the late eighties, this seriously reduced the preload and effectiveness of the LSD and shortened their lifespan. The Motorsport ZF diffs and aftermarket ones (such as Guard & OS Giken) still use 4 or more plates per side which makes them much more consistent and extends their longevity.

Hope this helps,

Default My 2006 M3 LSD makes too much chatter

I am not sure this post directly applies to my daily driver but here goes. I have a factory LSD in my 2006 M3. Unofrtunately I get lots of noise with the Diff when going around slow turns. I have tried both BMW factory recommended fluid and Redline diff fluid with no reduction in diff chatter. Can I add some Redline friction modifier to reduce the noise or will this affect the LSD performance.
P.S. I have tried different M3 forums with no good info.

I have the exact same problem with my 1991 C2. Will get some friction modifier as soon as possible. Maybe GM or Redline whichever is available.

Motul makes one with the friction mods “lsd” oil. I use the 75w140 non lsd and don’t get chatter. Guard diff.
