I have been using the "BATTERY TENDER PLUS" (no affiliation) http://batterytender.com/product_inf...91304662a9cf5b it comes with everything you need; found one on EBay for just under $40.00

On a similar note:

How well do the "Quick Disconnect Battery Terminals" work? Like the one pictured below (unscrew the green **** until the brass contacts are separated)

I drive my car ofter enough, but I find myself wanting to leave the door or hoods open when tinkering around with my car. So after a couple days of tinkering and not driving I worry about killing the battery?

I currently disconnect the negative cable from the battery. Does anyone know if this will cause any negative effects to the computer in my car?

I disconnect the negative on the battery anytime I work on the engine. No harm so far.
