It's a been a while since an update about my car and just not comments in different threads.

The pics aren't any special but they show some of the things:

1 Carbon/fibre front hood from MA Shaw incl pop rod from RS/Cup and hood sprints from Porsche Motorsport (Sorry Geoffrey, I know you told me the old style version is better but these looks so good!). I'm really impressed with the quality and fitting of the hood. It weighs 4,7 kg compared to 16 kg for the steel hood so that's a good one. I also did a little fix so the alarm is still working which is good since I don't have a lock any more.

2 There also a new front bumper without the headlight washers. Looks much cleaner.

3 The 993 windscreen, with seals and the 993 rear mirror. I've posted pics of this before.

4 Some new Carrera Cup style decals but I stick with the black/white look.

5 Carrera Cup kill switch on the left fender and also the correct switch in the cabin (I had a "universal" version there before).

6 A full A/C delete, that was 23 kg! Only the evaporator left but that's a lightweight item so I didn't bother with it. But I did remove and cut the A/C pump bracket so it looks like it should!

7 A RS-sway bar in the front incl drop links.

8 Tarret drop links in the rear, replicas of the ones on the Cup Cars. Impressed with the quality of these parts to!

9 Stiffer bushings for the rear sway bar from Powerflex.

10 New seals for the door sills/skirts

11 Finally, the rear fan bypass fix!

So all in all, the car feels a bit lighter and more responsive. The front end is more planted isn fast corners and the rear end feels a bit thighter which gives me more confidence and feedback.

So now it's time sto start thinking about the mods for next winter

I believe the one on the left is a kill switch, the other looks like an ABS override.

the **** to the right is the Cup ABS kill switch. The T-handle is the engine kill switch, conneted to the switch at the battery together with the little red **** on the fender. Both parts from Porsche Motorsport.

hood sprints are the small pins that holds down the front hood. You see them on the first pic!

thanks! Yeah it looks really good and fresh. I could easily wind the clock back to 50.000 km and no one would question it. The engine and gearbox are also very tight and dry.

No big advantage, but they say that the glass is a little bit bigger so it seals better. Then it also looks a bit more modern together with the thinner seal when it's mounted more flat to the body.

ABS kill switch please tell me more.
Also can you tell me about the pins you used for the hood. I have the M Shaw hood in FG and can't get it to close low enough to look correct. So there are large gaps on both sides.

The hood pins are from Porsche Motorsport, something like 50 USD each (and you need two kits). I think maybe FVD have them from the same supplier but the price is the same. It is the same hood pins Porsche used from the 993 cup car up to the current 997 cars. Very light and nice looking.

ABS kill switch: It was mounted in the 964-993 Cup cars to give the driver an option to turn off the ABS if he didn't want it on, or try to reset the ABS if he had some problems with it. You just hook up the switch on the ABS relay. when you press the **** the ABS is turned off, and when you pull it out it's back on. I'll probably never use it but it' a really cool switch and it's a part of my "cup-style" car! I want as many things as possible to be correct or better.

My fitting was extremely straight on. I just bolted the hood onto to hinges without any extra washers or anything, just the four usual washers. Then a friend just helped me to align it with a pair of extra hands. But the gaps now looks like stock. I also used the Porsche crest sticker from the 996 GTRS instead of a metal crest. You have to save weight if you can :-)

Your car looks great! The little details - like the kill switches, sticker crest instead of emblem, and hood pins really set the car off IMO. I bet it is a blast to drive, too!
