Default Doh! Plug Wires

Anyone have a spare #4 passenger side plug wire? The previous owner had installed new wires at some point and had run them in all kinds of strange directions. Since I have the intakes and throttle body out, I decided to straighten them up. Oops, I pulled the cable out of the #4 wire, distributor side.

If anyone has a used cable lying around, that would be better than buying a new set from Pelican at $504...

Thanks,

I have old sets that may or may not be good .
You can buy new just the one you want .

There is a guy in texas that can put together a new cable with or with out the ends .

Got a photo of the "damage" ?

Sure do. See below. What a bonehead move.

Any info on where to buy just one or on the guy in Texas would be appreciated. Although it would be nice to have a whole new set of plug wires, I can think of much better ways to spend $500 (chip, A/C repair, etc.)

Looks like I can buy the plug end for $10 or less. Problem is, I have no idea how I would crimp/solder/connect it to the wire.

I can't find a place on the web to buy just one cable. May be best to buy a used wire or two from a Rennlister.

Pelican sells the crimp on ends for $2. Be sure to lube up the wire before screwing the end back on. Which wire is it you need? #4, top or bottom plug?

You have all the parts you need .
You just need to remove the screw in part that is still inside the plug end and put it back on the wire .
No big deal .

I've found the rubber boot to "tight" to allow the crimp to come out. All my attempts to get it apart have ended up with the rubber torn...... If there is a simple way, I'd love to hear about it.......

Always the bonehead, I read this after ruining the end. Good news is I cut it open so I'll always know what the innards of the connectors look like.

Thanks for the help. I'll be ordering ends now and using the screwdriver tap method to crimp the cable on.

You can purchase individual wires from sunset, or pelican themselves. Just look in there parts look up tool, it will show you what one you need. Will be nowhere near the $500-600 range for 1 wire.

Never ordered from Sunset. And when I looked at Pelican, I just saw the set. In fact, when I looked through the PET, I only saw part numbers for the set. Maybe I'm blind and a bonehead.

OK, I was blind. Good thing too. I ordered a Beru brand plug end and a spare for $20 online today with shipping. Pelican wants $26 + shipping for one. Also, they want $86 for one cable.

Pete, you asked about the sound pad. I'll probably yank out the rest of it out.

Thanks for all the help today.
