Pete, you asked about the sound pad. I'll probably yank out the rest of it out.

Thanks for all the help today.
Where did you order them? I had 2 rip at the distributor end when I changed my caps. I am getting a bit of arcing now around the cap.

www.autopartswarehouse.com, no affiliation. Never ordered from there before. Hope they're OK.

FYI, the parts above came in without the crimp on ends. Don't know where to get these. The ones pictured show that they are for a Benz. I'll have to try to reuse the one that came off my wire.

I think I have a couple at home. Let me check at lunch, and I will get back to you. If I have them, they are yours. Just pm me your address.

Pelican has them, around $2 each. Get a few extra to practice on.

I've searched on Pelican and can't find them. P/N? Name?

Ordering more stuff from them tonight .....

I put the wrong O-ring on this and started torquing the nuts down and the crankcase cover cracked. The night was going so well too. I got the o-rings changed for both engine to chain bridges, changed the crankcase breather gasket and this was the last for the night. Worst part is I had the right o-ring in my hand and thought it didn't look right. That'll teach me not to check the PET before installing o-rings.

Found them. 911-609-310-00 threaded sleeve

What kind of lube should I use once the wire is crimped on so I can screw this and the wire into the boot?

Maybe I should wait to order these until I get the engine compartment buttoned up. No telling what else I may break.

Thanks

Finally got the plug wire crimp on ends and got it all crimped and installed. I have a couple of questions now.
1. What should the resistance measure for our plug wires?
2. If I had the plug wire removed from the passenger, upper, center plug and then disconnected the Power Steering fluid line (working on oil leaks) to the pump and some PS fluid got into the passenger, upper, center plug hole, how much trouble would that cause?
3. Can the valve cover washers be reused? I just changed them out w/ my valve adjust in May.

Thanks,
