Default 1990 Porsche C2 - Flashing warning lights

On Saturday night, I took the wife to have some yogurt in Irvine, Ca. Parked under a nice tree, purchased our yogurt and decided to sit outside the establishment to enjoy our treat. Looking at the car while talking, we noticed the "flasher lights" come on and they flashed for almost 1 minute, then went off. The car was not touched, no excessive wind, no alarm went off, just the flashers by themselves.

Can anyone offer an explanation why the "flasher" would just go off by themselves? Is there a logical explanation?

This is out there, but, could do you know for certain the audible alarm works? IDK much about cabs, but is there a proximity sensor that sense something entering the passenger compartment? Seems like something could have fallen off the tree and caused something like that...complete stab in the dark here, but throwin the idea out there.

I'm positive the audible alarm works. The Cabriolet top was closed and both windows were closed.
