Default A/C Questions

My 964 has two A/C buttons. One is a larger snowflake and one is a smaller snowflake. My owners manual only shows one button.

Anyone know what the meaning of the two buttons is? As near as I can tell my A/C sorta works sometimes. Sometimes it blows air the feels like its been cooled, sometimes it is clearly not cooling. I can't seem to correspond either situation with some combination of A/C settings...

Good A/C shop recommendation in Seattle? Its Africa hot here right now... (gonna be in the 90s -- a big deal in a town where nearly nobody has A/C in their homes -- including me :-( )

Thanks,
Jeff

Thats awesome...

To top it all off, I seem to have vinyl seating. I think I'm going to go retro 70s and get some sheepskin seatcovers...

Sweating in Seattle....

Thanks,
Jeff

The top button puts the A/C on max cooling capacity. The smaller button gives you the option to set it as you want. The non-cooling issue can be caused by lots of different issues. The first thing that i would do is to make sure that the system is up to pressure with 100% of the coolant gas. Most A/C shops should be able to evacuate the system and recharge. If you still have cooling issues it may be time to start replacing parts.
