Removing Carrera Emblem
Sorry if this has been covered before but I couldn't find any threads on it.
I want to remove the Carrera 2 emblem on my hood but I am wondering how the paint will look underneath if I remove it. I have no idea how it is attached.
Has anyone done this that can comment on how the hood will look once the emblem has been removed? FYI The car is GP White.
TIA

Its stuck on with a strong tape.
When u remove it the condition of the paint underneath is any ones guess.
I removed mine and polished it and u cant tell it ever had a badge.
But a 20 year old car has to many possible paint problems to guess at will happen when you remove a badge.
Pul it off it looks better with out!

I could see where mine was after removal and detailing the paint. although subsequently cured via Ducktail.
Heat and dental floss are suggested by some as removal "tools".

The badge on the front hood it held on with two or three nuts on the backside of the badge. If you open the front trunk, you will see the nuts. They are recessed. If you want to remove it, you would need a body shop to fill the holes and repaint the hood.
As Russ said, the rear badges are attached with glue/strong tape. You can remove them, polish the area if you desire. No body shop visit required.

When I removed mine you could still read "Carrera 2" in the paint, but I've been told (see below) that red is the worst color for this. With white I think it's not such a big deal.

Hope this helps,

With black it turned out to be no biggie. At the right angle in the sun you can still faintly make out "Carrera 2" but the clean look MORE than makes up for it.

I just happen to like the look without the emblem. I noticed it on the US cup car and really like the look since I'm also getting a white car.

It's white Mr. stopellll... White does not fade like other paint colors due to UV rays.
It will look fine underneath, now if it was red or black... different story.
